Rabbi Noam Fix grew up in Queens, N.Y. where he began his work with teens as NCSY Regional President of the New York Ohr Chadash Region. After studying in Yeshivat Sha’arei Mevaseret Tzion in Israel, Yeshivat Ohr HaChaim in Queens, and graduating Summa Cum Laude from Touro College with a B.A. in Psychology, Rabbi Fix went on to be ordained by Dayan Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg. He authored the sefer “Exodus of the Mind,” a process of self discovery through the haggadah shel Pesach.
Rabbi Fix’s warm and gentle personality has touched the lives of countless students over the years. His vision and leadership abilities have also led him to launching and coordinating a very successful “big-brother” outreach program in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel. Rabbi Fix currently resides in Ramat Beit Shemesh with his wife Rivka and their six sons.

Mrs. Rivka Lichtman grew up in Paramus, N.J.  She taught in Manhattan Day School while completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  Teaching was in her blood, so when opportunities arose to teach in various programs in Yerushalayim, Mrs. Lichtman jumped right in.  Mrs. Lichtman has been involved in educating girls for over 20 years in many institutions including Bnot Chayil, Michlelet Esther, Sharfmans, Darchei Binah, Afikei Torah, Ba’er Miriam, Jewel/jInternships and most importantly, Tomer Devorah. Mrs. Lichtman oversees the academic program at Tomer Devorah, ensuring that each girl receives a unique educational experience catered to her preferences. Her charismatic personality and lively sense of humor, along with her sincere desire to help each girl reach her potential, endear her to her students.  Her genuine care and concern for the welfare of each individual is known to all and proven by the vast amounts of students who keep in touch with her long after they’ve left Israel.   Mrs. Lichtman lives with her family in the Givat Hamivtar section of Jerusalem.

Mrs. Leah Rosenstein is the Menahelet of the Shana Bet program in Tomer Devorah.  A long-time teacher in Tomer Devorah, Mrs. Rosenstein teaches Habayit Hayehudi to Shana Bet as well as Chovas Hatalmidim to Shana Alef.

As Program Director, Mrs. Walder is involved in coordinating and running all aspects of Tomer Devorah. Mrs. Walder also leads our Programming Team, utilizing her creativity, energy, and organization to create a well rounded extracurricular program for our students. Mrs. Walder has been involved in the school in various capacities since our opening in 2006. She resides in Shaarei Chesed with her husband and children.

Mrs. Michal Trenk waLiff was born and grew up near Haifa, Israel in a small town called Ramat Yishai. After graduating from an Israeli performing arts high school, she went on to become well-known for her passion for acting in women’s theater productions such as the internationally renowned Zir Chemed. She attended Afikei Torah Seminary and then Ofakim for two years. Mrs.Liff is an in-demand inspirational speaker for both Hebrew and English-speaking seminaries and programs as well as various worldwide audiences. She has taught for multiple kiruv programs including JLE, Aish HaTorah, PERI, Meor and, most notably, Jewel/JInternships, where she worked as a program director, teacher, and instructor of a popular Ulpan class. Married with four children, the Liffs live in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem.

Mrs. Sheva Rand grew up in the Five Towns, New York. After attending Michlalah Seminary for two years, she switched to the Israeli program (Michlalah Jerusalem College) majoring in education and Jewish Studies, and has been in Israel ever since. Mrs. Rand is passionate about teaching young women to actively chart the course of their lives through self-awareness and proactive decision-making. She has worked in several seminaries and mentoring programs including institutions for girls with eating disorders, newcomers to Judaism, and post-high school programs.
Mrs. Rand works as the seminary’s Aim Bayit and teaches several classes in the school. She lives with her family in the Sanhedria Murchevet neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Chaya Wealcatch grew up in Monsey, NY and spent over 10 years involved in high school education in her home town.  Mrs. Wealcatch taught in various high schools, directed productions and served as assistant principal before moving with her family to Ramat Eshkol and joining the Tomer Devorah team. Chaya’s success as mechanechet is due to her love and concern for each student and her ultimate belief in them. Her warm and energetic personality along with her genuine smile and positive demeanor endears her to all of her students.

Mrs Anaelle Benguira runs the school efficiently and with a smile. She is our go-to for any technical matter from restocking the cereals to locking up the passports. She manages the school office, giving guidance to the secretaries and assisting teachers with office work. She also gives a wonderful listening ear to any student in need.

Mrs. Sophie Goldstein sits behind the scenes, managing the Financial Office and Admissions Department of the school. Her meticulous calculations and concern for each individual student are apparent as she assists with payment plans when needed. And even while the students don’t get to see her on regular basis, they know she is there, making sure Tomer Devorah can run well.

Rabbi Joseph Oratz is the former Principal of Bruriah High School in Elizabeth, NJ, His reputation in Chinuch Banot is well known, having taught thousands of students in his 4 decades of teaching Torah. Known for his care and concern for each of his students, Rabbi Oratz chose to teach at Tomer Devorah when he and his wife came on Aliyah in 2020. In his words “Tomer Devorah represented the Chinuch Hashkafa that totally aligned with my approach to teaching Torah, respecting our students and ensuring their emotional well-being enabling them to be open to the Torah we are imparting to them”.

Mindel Kassorla, originally from Woodmere NY, has been working in seminaries in Eretz Yisrael for over a decade. She lectures for women of all ages (from High School students to Senior Citizens) and is a popular columnist for Mishpacha Magazine. In her role as Alumnae Coordinator, she helps past students keep connected to the TD family with newsletters, shiurim and more. Both Mrs. Kassorla and her husband, Rabbi Naftali Kassorla, share the privilege of teaching seminary women, as well as hosting them for Shabbos meals at their home in Jerusalem.

A native Israeli, Mr. Naim knows all the ins and outs of the campus and how to fix any problem. As our Maintenance manager, his first priority is ensuring that the TD campus is safe and comfortable and that every student has the proper amenities.

Mrs. Diti Raice recently joined our staff as a mechanechet. The students really enjoy her insights in class, as well has the kind and loving advice she gives them on the side.

Mrs. Ahuva Kreitenberg is a mechanechet for Shana Bet. She uses her great insight and personal expereince to guide our second year students towards the next stage of their lives, with confidence and skills that will last them forever.

Originally from LA, Mrs. Chana Schuss went to BJJ for her year in seminary and then moved to Yerushalayim after she got married. She taught and tutored in high school and a few seminaries, including Meohr and Pninim. She loves teaching and giving over, and hearing each girl’s take on life and hashkafah. Additionally she is a mechanechet for Shana Bet. Mrs. Schuss enjoys deep hashkafa-based discussions to get to the truth of the matter, which plays a big part in her classes. She teaches Kivun and Hamavdil, curriculums that focus on Jewish fundamentals.

Mrs. Estee Solomon is a mechanechet and also teaches the class Maase Avot. The students benefit from her easygoing nature and warmth, and just love schmoozing with her during their meetings or any time of the day.

Mrs. Nomi Zahn, originally from Rochester, New York, loves bringing her “out-of- town” warmth to Tomer Devorah. She received her  M.S. in Secondary Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and has experience teaching in HANC High School on Long Island. There, she served as a grade Mechanechet, Director of Religious Programing, Coordinator of Student Activities, taught Navi, Chumash, and an  array of elective courses to all grades. After moving to Eretz Yisrael she has taught in many seminaries and is excited to join the TD Mechanechet team to connect with girls individually out of the classroom. She lives in Yerushalayim with her husband and family.

Mrs. Rina Fix joined our staff in 2021, and built the first ever TD on-site kitchen. Nothing says home like delicious food, so thanks to Chef Rina, Tomer Devorah feels like a home away from home with scrumptious and well-balanced meals, as well as baked treats… just because 🙂

Mrs. Brachi Lerner, originally from Atlanta, GA, joined the Tomer Devorah team a few years ago as a madricha. After she got married, she joined our staff as one of our awesome Programming Coordinators, adding her engery and creativity to make sure that TD has the most amazing activities and events. She also teaches Birchot HaShachar.

Chana Abowitz is a veteran teacher and lecturer on a wide range of topics.  She dynamically imbues her students with love and appreciation for Torah and mitzvot.  Since she made aliyah years ago with her family, she has taught in various popular seminaries.

Rabbi Meir Blake was raised and educated in London England. Since 2001 he has been learning in Yeshivas Midrash Shmuel, becoming a mashgiach and working with the bochorim in their avodas Hashem. He has also been teaching in various seminaries. In 2005 he met and married his wife Efrat and they currently live with their 7 children in Rechavia.

Ms. Miriam Brodersen, originally from Portland, Oregon, made Aliyah with her family in 2002. She has a B.A in Business Administration from Ono Academic College (Israel) and a teaching certificate in Jewish studies from Beth Jacob Teachers Seminary (Jerusalem). In addition to being part of the faculty at Tomer Devorah, she teaches in several other American seminaries in Jerusalem.

Internationally renowned educator, speaker, and author Rav Mordechai Burg is the Menahel of Mevaseret, Mashpia of NCSY Summer, Mashpia of Nitzotzos, author of Nitzotzos on Chumash and a senior Rebbe at Tomer Devorah and Bnot Torah Institute. His shiurim can be found on Nitzotzos.com

His family originating from Morocco, Rabbi Yirmiyahu Cohen was born in Gibraltar, where his parents and grandparents were born. After completing high school in Gibraltar, Rabbi Cohen went to Yeshivat Mikdash Melech. After getting married and spending several years in Kolel Beit Abba, in 2005, Rabbi Cohen went back to Mikdash Melech as a teacher and Mashgiach, and he remains there in that capacity until today. A true sportsman when not studying or teaching Torah, Rabbi Cohen remains an avid soccer player. The Cohen family lives in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Shlomo Meir Eisenman is a licensed Israel Tour Guide who has been guiding and sharing his love of Israel for almost 20 years. He inherited this love of Israel from his grandfather, a 7th generation Jerusalemite (from the students of the Vilna Gaon) and IDF soldier in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence.

Mrs. Rivka Fix, married to Rabbi Noam Fix (Dean) runs workshops in her home and comes in to teach occasionally.

Mrs. Horovitz is a passionate teacher in an array of seminaries in Yerushaliym. Originally from Toronto, she began teaching in highschool’s there while running a girls-at-risk full time program. Currently she resides in Ramat Eshkol, where she enjoys truly getting to know her students in and out of the classroom setting. Mrs. Horovitz enjoys teaching Yirmiyahu to Shana Aleph. Additionally, she has her Masters in Social Work and works in a specialized clinic that focuses on relational trauma.

Milka Kimmel, originally from Lawrence, NY, is a Tomer Devorah alumnus. Milka earned her LMSW from Wurzweiler School of Social work. She is a professor for Sarah Schenirer and is a certified Kallah Teacher under Rav Yitzchok Berkowitz. Milka has previously taught in Bnot Chaya Academy and joined the Tomer Devorah staff when she moved to Eretz Yisroel. In her inspiring Kedoshim Tihiyu, Orchas Yosher and Sichos Mussar classes, it is clear that she is passionate about connecting with her students and bringing out their kochos.

Shiffy Klein grew up in Woodmere, NY. She went to TAG high school, then spent a year in Bnos Chava Seminary. Her passion for teaching and connecting lead her to her first teaching job post-college in Tichon Meir Moshe (TMM) High School. In 2018 she moved to Israel with her family and now resides in Arzei Habira. Her vision as a teacher is to bring Chassidus down into everyday life and find meaning in the mundane.

Mrs. Shelly Padowitz grew up in Long Island, NY. After high school, she attended Michlalah in Jerusalem and then continued to Stern College for Women where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Art in association with the Fashion Institute of Technology. Throughout Shelly’s college years she worked for Aish HaTorah’s college Fellowship program.  In her senior year, she married Rabbi Joel Padowitz. After graduating they moved to Jerusalem where they lived for seven years before taking a job in London to run Aish UK’s Young Professional program. For the three years in England, Shelly taught classes on a wide range of Jewish topics to women exploring Judaism. Upon returning to Israel and settling in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Shelly began lecturing in various seminaries and for Aish programs. Whenever she speaks, Shelly speaks from the heart giving over a passionate and honest approach to Torah living. In her spare time, Shelly is a matchmaker and counselor for older singles who want to live in Israel. From New York to Jerusalem to London to Beit Shemesh, the Padowitz home is always bustling with good guests, good food and good conversation.

Rabbi Baruch Schechter, hailing from Monsey, N.Y., studied in Yeshivat Sha’arei Mevaseret Tzion, and further continued his Torah Studies under Rav Chaim Ilson shlit’a, one of the foremost talmidim of Rav Soloveichik.  For years, Rabbi Schechter has been delivering shiurim in Tanach to ba’alei batim in Ramat Beit Shemesh, where he lives. Additionally he teaches in a number of seminaries. Combining humor, life experience, and a vast knowledge of hashkafic and mussar sources, Rabbi Schechter’s classes inspire and entertain his students.

Rabbi Nachman Seltzer is the author of fifty books, including such classics as Angels in Orange, 90 Seconds, Living Legend, the Zera Shimshon series, Incredible!, Incredible 2 and The Rebbetzin. Those were proceeded by The Network, The Link and The Shadows, (fiction); Child Of War and Nine Out Of Ten (biographies); the Moments series; Stories With A Twist; and the bestselling It Could Have Been You series (short stories). He also compiled One Small Deed Can Change The World, a popular anthology.
Rabbi Seltzer is a columnist for the Mishpacha Magazine, where his true life stories are beloved around the world.
Rabbi Seltzer received his semicha from Rav Yitzchok Berkovitz at The Jerusalem Kollel and teaches in various post-high-school programs for American students studying in Eretz Yisroel.

Mrs. Tova Sherr grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. After attending Pninim Bais Yaakov Seminary she went on to work for Neve Yerushalayim, Baer Miriam and Aish Hatorah, while acquiring a certification in Personal Training. She now teaches in Tomer Devorah, while running a business that manages Personal Trainers all over Jerusalem.
Tova was sent to Hungary on numerous occasions to teach Torah to kids and adults that have assimilated.
Mrs. Sherr has a passion for climbing mountains and learning about Hashems world through nature. Mrs Sherr teaches Perek Shira in order to spread her love for Torah and the world around her.
She currently lives in Rechavia, Jerusalem.

Mrs. Hanna Shukrun teaches Shir Hashirim and Michtav M’Eliyahu with passion and wisdom. The poweful lessons she teaches about Emunah and Bitachon challenge the students minds, and leave them thinking long after class has ended.
